Collage and Mixed Media Mar. 5,6,7 & 8. Explore your creativity through the use of mixed media. We will be making our own collage papers as well as layering various papers, pastels, ink, metallic powders, writing, and printed matter. This painting workshop in Mixed Media focuses on the painting process. Inspirations come from letting go of tight rules. We will observe everyday images, and move through expressionism towards abstraction. We will explore the many ways to start a paintings, what is the "in between" and when is a painting finished. Join us for a weekend of jumping into creative flow. "Collage and Mixed Media "two day workshop. The creative adult surrenders to the curious playful child. Intuitive playing while making collage papers yields amazing patterns, color mixing, and textures. Learn how to make collage papers and stretch your visual language in your artwork. Strong paintings show an imaginative use of composition, and color sense. This one day workshop introduces basic and critical elements of how they work together. We will review the choice of palettes and why, the pigments we really need, andthe magical combinations that are achievable. We will make reich collage papers in cohesive colors, while exploring patterns. We will cover aspects of good design, and division of space. Working with all these elements, participants will see and feel the effects of integrating collage papers into their own paintings.
